The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) released the results of its 2022 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) on Tuesday, Which showed that nearly one ion five Americans ages 12 and older reported having a substance use disorder in the past year, and roughly one in four adults reported having a mental illness. Racial and Ethnic Disparities in the Treatment of MDD in US Adolescents (opens new window)
In 2021, the prevalence of major depressive disorder (MDD) was approximately 20% among adolescents in the United States (US), according to study results published in JAMA Pediatrics.
