A recent American Cancer Society study found geographic and racial disparities in incidence and mortality rates for men with a major genitourinary cancer. Intervention Science for Health Disparities Research Recommendations (opens new window)
Guiding Principles: Promote multi-sectoral interventions that address the structural drivers of health disparities, as well as those that consider the interplay with behavioral and biological factors. Rationale: Interventions need to address structural factors, such as poverty, racism, discrimination, residential segregation, unemployment, food deserts, and educational inequalities.
