Now, two new studies reveal racial and gender disparities in student publication rates, adding to the ways that inequities in academia manifest early in careers. Women medical students publish less than men, despite reporting a similar number of “research experiences” in their residency applications, according to a study published yesterday in JAMA Network Open. Congratulations to Dr. Cheryl Taylor on her National League for Nursing (NLN) Nurse Educator of the Year Award! NLN declared 2022 the Year of the Nurse Educator. The awards highlight a year of celebrating the unique contributions of nurse educators and nursing education to public health.
Congratulations to Dr. Dawn Bounds and Dr. Bridgette Rice on being inducted in the American Academy of Nurses (AAN) as FAANS, the highest credential a nurse can earn, during their 2022 Health Policy conference in DC this week.
Alumna Giovanna De Oliveira, PhD, MSN, RN, ANP, PMHNP-BC and her MFP/ANA mentee, Angel Johann Solorzano Martinez, PhD (c), DNP, MSN, MBA, RN, CNS, PMHNP-BC, presented a poster presentation, "Management and Prevention of Workplace Violence Training for Student Nurses: A Review of the Literature," during the recent 36th annual APNA conference in Long Beach, CA.
