Precious Daniels

Precious Daniels, MSN, RN, an American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), certified Adult Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, is a third-year student pursuing the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at Georgetown University. Her interests include outpatient engagement and treatment adherence of veterans with serious mental illness. Her DNP quality improvement project is focused on programmatic evaluation of video to home visits within a VA mental health clinic. Her goal is to be able to inform best practices for implementing video to home visits in other Veterans Administration (VA) clinic settings serving veterans with mental health conditions. She earned a BSN degree with a minor in Psychology from Villanova University; and an MSN degree, specializing in Advanced Psychiatric Practice, from the University of Pennsylvania.

For more than 14 years, Ms. Daniels has provided intensive, community-based, clinical care coordination to veterans experiencing homelessness, chronic mental illness, addictions, and the gamut of chronic medical co-morbidities at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center in Philadelphia. Her nursing experience also includes inpatient acute psychiatric and addictions care, nurse management, and other nurse leadership roles. She prides herself on clinical excellence and is passionate about behavioral health, serving vulnerable and special populations, nursing quality, care coordination, and community health, especially health policy and advocacy for vulnerable populations to reduce health disparities and inequities.

Caring is innate to who Ms. Daniels is and it guides her practice. When she is not providing care to veterans, she is caring for her husband, two sons and a daughter.
