Michael Brown, BSN, RN, is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) enrollee at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO. He desires to continue to serve the population and continue improving mental wellness. A part of his goals is to help improve the mental health of the population, including establishing a mental health practice that will provide services through varying avenues and assist those who are underserved and/or have limited or no health insurance.
Immediately after graduating from secondary school, Mr. Brown sought a position to serve and provide services to individuals with mental health conditions and developmental delays. As a nurse, he has maintained that focus through delivering care to psychiatric patients in acute and forensic settings. Mr. Brown has excelled at all the academic institutions he has attended, graduating among the highest honors with a grade point average of Summa Cum Laude distinction. He obtained his initial degree in Health Service Administration complemented by a certificate in Leadership, then continued his collegian education plan and pursued a degree in Nursing; the synthesis of knowledge from his various degrees enables him and supports his aspiration to deliver effective and accessible mental health care. Mr. Brown also shares an interest in sciences, research, health economics, and communications/public speaking.
Mr. Brown is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi International Honor Society and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society. He is a selectee of the Honor Society, Sigma Alpha Pi (National Society of Leadership and Success), and Omicron Delta Kappa (National Leadership Honor Society.
