BSN-RN , Masters (Current)
Ann-Marie Fahbundeh, BSN-RN, is a second-year Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) student at Chamberlain University. Originally from Sierra Leone, West Africa, she has worked her way up from working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to a Licensed Practical Nurse, and a Registered Nurse.
After falling in love with mental health during her RN psychiatric rotation, Mrs. Fahbundeh sought a position in mental health soon after acquiring her RN license. She has worked in this position as a staff nurse in an inpatient psychiatric hospital for almost 10 years. Before acquiring her RN, she worked for six years as an LPN in Subacute Rehabilitation facilities, long-term care facilities, and as a home healthcare nurse. She started her nursing journey by providing direct care support to individuals with developmental disabilities in the community; this experience helped fuel her passion for nursing. Providing compassionate and dignified care in nursing has helped Mrs. Fahbundeh in her role as the First Lady for a local church she and her husband founded a little over five years ago. In her role as the First Lady, she helps meet the spiritual needs of the people in her local church and community, educates and helps them find care for their medical and mental health needs. When not serving her congregation or working as a nurse, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children. Mrs. Fahbundeh hopes her foundation in nursing, ministry, and her MSN education at Chamberlain will help establish and set her apart as a leading nurse practitioner in the mental health industry particularly among minorities in her community here in the United States and ultimately people suffering with mental health conditions in her birth country of Sierra Leone and other third world countries. She is a member of The American Psychological Association.
