Vianca M. Colón Burgos, RN, MSN, is pursuing her third year in the Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Science (Ph.D.) program at Florida State University. Colón Burgos earned her Bachelor of Nursing Science (BSN) and her Master of Medical-Surgical Nursing (MSN) with a Role in Education from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico in Barranquitas. Colón Nurgos is a Graduate Research Assistant for Dr. Casey D. Xavier Hall in the Center of Population Science for Health Empowerment and a Nursing Lecturer at EDP University in Puerto Rico. She is a member of the National Hispanic Nurses Association (NAHN) and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Colón Burgos’ research interests include improving health behaviors, health literacy, maternal-infant health challenges to improve health outcomes in Hispanic/Latino populations.
