Tierra Lindsay

RN, BSN , Masters (Current)

Tierra Lindsay, RN, BSN, is a first-year Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) student at East Carolina University College of Nursing. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Winston-Salem State University, where she developed a passion for advancing inclusive mental health and supporting populations with unmet needs.

Lindsay has worked in a variety of mental health and substance misuse settings, where she provided compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals across the lifespan. She is dedicated to promoting holistic approaches to mental wellness.

Prior to her graduate studies, Lindsay gained experience providing direct patient care and supporting individuals with complex medical and behavioral health needs. Her background in nursing has strengthened her understanding of how social determinants and access disparities affect mental health outcomes. She is particularly interested in community-based interventions that integrate mental health education, early intervention, and culturally competent care.

Outside of her academic and clinical pursuits, Lindsay enjoys volunteering at community youth events, as well as public health community engagement initiatives. Upon completion of her PMHNP degree, she hopes to work in public and community health settings, serving populations with unmet health care needs and advocating for greater access to mental health services. Lindsay’s long-term goal is to become a leader in psychiatric nursing, advancing both practice and policy to improve the quality of mental health care nationwide.
