RN , Masters (Current)

Jongjin (Jinny) Coleman, RN, is a first-year Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) student at Frontier Nursing University in Kentucky. She has worked as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse and as an Emergency Room Registered Nurse, providing care to Alaska Native and other populations with significant unmet needs. Coleman is deeply committed to improving mental health outcomes throughout her nursing career, with a particular passion for substance use disorder prevention and treatment services for communities with unmet needs.

Coleman aspires to practice in a role that makes a meaningful difference for patients experiencing anxiety and depression related to sexual abuse, adverse childhood experiences, polysubstance use, and postpartum depression - interests that inspired her pursuit of a Master’s degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Coleman earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in South Korea before relocating to the United States to complete her second bachelor’s degree in Nursing Science at the University of Alaska Anchorage. She embraces lifelong learning and looks forward to continuing her professional growth as a PMHNP.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Coleman enjoys practicing yoga and spending time outdoors camping and fishing with her family during the summer months in Alaska.
