Deanna J. Romero is an accomplished Registered Nurse with a strong academic foundation and a commitment to advancing mental health care. Expected to complete a Master of Science in Nursing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Wilkes University in 2027, Romero previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduating Cum Laude, and holds an Associate of Applied Science and a Practical Nursing Certificate, both awarded Summa Cum Laude from Luna Community College.

Romero has held progressive roles in diverse healthcare settings, including her current role as a substance use disorder RN at Krossroads Integrative Health & Recovery Solutions in rural northern New Mexico. Romero’s experience spans direct patient care, supervision, case management, clinical education, and administrative leadership. Notably, she has managed interdisciplinary teams, coordinated complex patient care activities, and led initiatives in both inpatient and outpatient environments. Her expertise includes emergency nursing, behavioral health, and utilization management, with a proven ability to adapt and excel in high-acuity, fast-paced settings.

Romero’s professional journey includes active involvement in the American Nurses Association and participation in research and volunteer projects focused on substance use disorder and suicide prevention. Recognized for exceptional communication, leadership, and technological proficiency, she has received multiple honors, including nominations for the New Mexico nursing excellence award and ENA nursing education and practice awards.

Driven, dependable and compassionate, Romero continues to make a meaningful impact on patients, colleagues, and the community. She is a fierce protector of her family and enjoys spending time with her beautiful grandchildren. Romero volunteers with the local animal shelter and collaborates with animal advocacy organizations to foster and rescue disadvantaged dogs.
