Bernice Gyamfi

Bernice Gyamfi, RN, BSN, is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) student at Post University. She brings over a decade of nursing experience across various clinical settings, including long-term care, sub-acute rehabilitation, addiction and detoxification treatment, and her current work in psychiatric and behavioral health care with legal forensic and co-morbid psychiatric populations.

Gyamfi began her nursing education at the Nursing Training and Midwifery College in Ghana, where she earned her Diploma in Nursing. She later continued her academic journey at Worcester State University in Worcester, Massachusetts, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

During her undergraduate studies, she volunteered with the Refugee and Immigrant Assistance Center in Worcester, providing support and advocacy for populations with unmet needs. Her clinical and volunteer experiences have shaped her passion for addressing trauma and mental health challenges among adolescents and young adults, particularly high school and college students. She actively engages in community outreach, leading mental health talks in churches on topics such as postpartum depression, substance misuse, and addiction awareness.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Gyamfi enjoys creative outlets like crafting and playing music, staying active through hiking and yoga, and participating in social and intellectual activities such as book clubs and community groups. She aspires to become a compassionate and influential psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner dedicated to promoting mental wellness and resilience in communities with unmet needs.
